Bill Montford

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 15th at the First United Methodist Church with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. David Rucker will officiate. Pallbearers include Jim Bost, David Montford, James Money, Jarrod Montford, Clayton Byrd, and Chip Wood.

Bill was born on April 3, 1927 to John and Hattie (Bevill) Montford in Bridgeport. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. Bill was united in marriage to Vivian Janett Chilton on January 26, 1946 in Bridgeport. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and D.A.V. Air Force Sergeants Association. Bill loved hunting and gunsmithing.

He was preceded in death his sister in law, Ola Bost; his brother in law, Charles Bost Sr.; his nieces, Donna Sue Byrd and Judy Bost; and his nephew, C.E. Bost Jr.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 66 years, Jan Montford of Bridgeport; his brother, Donald Montford and wife Verda of Bridgeport; his sister in law, Maxine Gregory of Bridgeport; his nephews, David Montford, Jim Bost, Dwayne Gregory and Dwight Gregory; his nieces, Susan Gregory and Judy Money; other family members and a host of friends.
