Bill was born on September 20, 1937 in Pilot Point, TX to Archie Loyd and Myrl Lorene (Thoms) Smith. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church. Billy married Norma Latham July 30, 1998 in Gatlinburg, TN.

He was preceded in death by his father, and his two children, William Cody and Tristen Thomas Smith.

Survivors: Wife of nine years, Norma Smith of Decatur; son, Britain Loyd Smith of Red Oak, Texas; his granddaughter, Brandi Nicole Lockwood of Stephenville; and his mother, Myrl Smith.
