Bridgeport ~ Billie Doris (Erwin) Ford, 86, a retired Bridgeport Telephone Company worker and homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, October 26, 2015 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.
Dr. Craig Erb will officiate. Pallbearers include Brent Massey, Wade Baskin, Scott Hazel, Konner Hazel, Mitch Arrington, Bruce Arrington, Gary Everett.
Billie was born on June 22, 1929 to Martin and Vernice (Neese) Erwin in Electra, Texas. She was united in marriage to Charlie (C.I. “Ish”) Ford on her birthday, June 22, 1947 in Holliday, Texas. Billie was a member of the First Baptist Church. She taught Vacation Bible School and teen and youth Sunday school. Billie loved the Lord and was active in bible study. She was past president of Bridgeport Jr. Women’s Club and a past officer of the Bridgeport Civic Club. Billie volunteered for Wise Health Systems Auxiliary Club.
Billie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, C.I. “Ish” Ford; her sisters, Marie Ancell, Geneva Sessums Cooper, and Lola Tigrett Pace.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her daughters, Cindy Vest and husband Ocie of Runaway Bay, Brenda Lowry of Runaway Bay; her grandchildren, Tresha Massey and husband Brent of Marble Falls, Tracy Baskin and husband Wade of St. Paul, Texas, Kayce Hazel and husband Scott of Sanger; her great grandchildren, Konner and Hailey Hazel, Roan and Reese Massey, and Charlie Brayden Baskin; her sister, Barbara Good of Moore, Oklahoma; her brothers, Jack Erwin and wife Janis of Whitesboro; Don Erwin and wife Sandy of Runaway Bay; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and a host of friends.
