Bridgeport ~ Billie Jo Waters Stokes, 85, a former retail store clerk and homemaker, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Doug Bridwell and Tim Green will officiate. Pallbearers include Todd Stokes, Tim Green, Juan Mercer, Jeff Green, Tracy Martin, and Randy Powell. Honorary Pallbearers are Tony Green, Chris Romines, and John Maddux.
Billie was born on October 12, 1932 to Blan and Ethel Marie (Cox) Waters in Parker County, Texas. She was united in marriage to Morris Stokes on April 16, 1954 in Bridgeport. Billie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Morris Stokes; her sisters, Ann Pierce, Nona Kinnibe, and Wanda Sipes; her brothers, Dickie Waters and Jim Waters.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Stephen Stokes and wife Samantha of New Fairview; her daughter, Vicki Holder of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Jonathan Holder, Mary Beth Holder and boyfriend Taylor Milici, Jason Stokes, Josh Smith and wife Shauna, Scarlett Psutka, Victoria Nichols; her great grandchildren, Fable and Rowan; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
