Chico ~ Billie “Bill” Manning, 86, a retired postal worker, went to be with our Lord Sunday, November 6, 2016 in Chico.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Larry Potts will officiate. Pallbearers include L.E. Jones, Kenneth Manning, Rick Manning, Mike Manning, Josh Hysom, G.A. Buckner, Nobie Tucker, and Terry Hand.
Bill was born on December 20, 1929 to Eskell “Eck” and Ottie (Batchelor) Manning in Chico. He was united in marriage to Emily Euler on October 16, 1970 in Fort Worth. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother Carroll Leroy Manning.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Emily Manning of Chico; his daughters, Kathy Mabey and husband Charlie of Fort Worth, Christine Davis and husband Rick of Runaway Bay; his sons, David Manning and wife Michelle of Austin, Stephen Dobra and Faye of Sunset; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; his sister, Betty Wells of Graham; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
