Boyd ~ Billy J. Dodd, 81, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 10, 2017 in Decatur.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Rev. Jonathan McLeod will officiate. Pallbearers are Michelle Bricker, J.R. Fitzgerald, Beau Leewright, Josh Dodd, Kylee Phillips, Brodie Fitzgerald, and Aspen Andrews.
Billy was born on September 8, 1935 to Isom and Etta (Owens) Dodd in Desha County, Arkansas. He was united in marriage to Mary Lee Odom on September 25, 1954 in Mississippi. Billy was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He retired from Roadway Trucking after 30 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Elbert Dodd.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Mary Lee Dodd; his son, Danny Ray Dodd and wife Sharon of Boyd; his daughters, Rita K. Hickman and husband Albert of Fort Worth, and Debi Leewright and husband Randy of Springtown; his grandchildren, Michelle Bricker and husband J.R., Josh Dodd, Beau Leewright and wife Amanda, and Kylee Phillips; his great grandchildren, Ike, Aspen, Mandy, Brogan, Karen, and Brodie; his sisters, Lillie M. Williams of Tillar, Arkansas, Catherine Marshall of Tillar, Arkansas, Christine Parker and husband Jerry of Campbell, and Ann Carisle and husband Marcus of Austin, Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
