Graveside service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 3rd at Gooseneck Cemetery near Graham, Texas with Reverend David Isbell officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Billy Bob was born May 25, 1928 in Merkel, Texas to Ocie Robert and Willie Taylor Douglas. He married Frankie Louise Sharp on February 25, 1950 in Graham, Texas. Billy Bob retired from Mitchell Energy as plant supervisor in 1994. He served in the United State Marine Corp and was a member of Eagle Drive Baptist Church. Billy Bob will be remembered as a loving husband and father.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 58 years, Frankie Douglas of Decatur; 4 daughters, Janet Fiel and husband, Larry of Missoula, Montana; Julie McDonald and husband, Jim of Decatur, Jackie Irick and husband, J.W. of Slidell and Jerri Wilson of Hollywood, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Jeannie Meador, Jodi Metres and husband, Mark, Kevin McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Bonnie Wilson Irick, and Robert Wilson; 4 great grandchildren, Kiran and Talya Metres, Ian McDonald and Luke McDonald; and brother, Donald Douglas of Abilene, Texas.
Billy Bob is preceded in death by his parents.
