Decatur: Billy Dewayne "Bubba" Escobedo, 34, of Decatur went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 in Burleson, Texas.
Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, August 1st at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Interment will follow the service at Sweetwater Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Frank Stapp, Billy Woods, Mike Hood, Colby Meyers, Trent Teague, Monty Forbus, Jerry Borsky and Lorenzo D. Escobedo.
Bubba was born on May 15, 1974 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lorenzo and Renna (Hudson) Escobedo. He was a roughneck for Frelderhof Drilling.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his daughter, Bailey Shae Escobedo of Runaway Bay, parents, Renna Grundy and husband, Billy of Decatur and Lorenzo Escobedo and wife Sally of Tahoka; grandparents, Juanita Escobedo of O'Donnell, Nona Moody of Chico; 5 sisters, Susan McDaniel and husband, Johnny of Chico, Robin Stapp and husband, Frank of Decatur, Virginia Herrera and husband, Victor of Tahoka, Linda Moody of Alvord; Billie Rawle of Decatur; 4 brothers, Lorenzo D. Escobedo of Tahoka, Larry Moody and Jake Moody of Decatur, Eddie Grundy and wife Cindy of Decatur; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Susie Hudson; Luis Escobedo and Louis Moody.
