Billy Gamble

Bridgeport ~ Billy Ray Gamble, 73, went to be with our Lord on Monday, September 24, 2018 in Decatur, Texas.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, 2018 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Brother Gary Sessions will officiate. Pallbearers include Bruce North, Don McCrary, Michael Rasmussen, Kevin North, Kirby North, Paul Liebel, and honorary pallbearers Kenneth North, Charley Gamble and Jerry Adair.

Billy was born on September 24, 1945 to James Ray and Lillian E. (Armstrong) Gamble in Bridgeport, Texas. He was united in marriage to Linda Louise Lancaster on March 20, 1978 in Decatur, Texas. Billy proudly served his country as a soldier in the United States Army. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 40 years, Linda Louise Harris Lancaster Gamble; sister, Ruby Nell North; brother, Edward Glen Gamble; sister, Nancy Osborn; brother, Danny George Gamble.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Connie Jean Lancaster Gupton and husband Edward of Kyle, Texas; sister, Helen Gamble Thorpe of Nampa, Idaho; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
