BRIDGEPORT -- Billy George Peyton, 71, a retired district technician for Natural Gas Pipeline Company of America, died Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, at a Decatur hospital. Funeral: 2:30 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Chapel. Burial: Sunset Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. He was born Nov. 13, 1934 in Alvord to the late John Henry and Willie Claborn Peyton. He married Betty Chester May 17, 1957 in Picton, TX. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Paradise and Decatur Eighters Square Dance Club. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, John and Guenn Peyton. Survivors: Wife of 49 years, Betty Peyton of Bridgeport; sons, John and wife, Sharon of Bridgeport, Bradley and wife, Debra of Chico, Richard and wife, Janice of Paradise; daughter, Teresa Lindsey and husband, Billy of Bridgeport; brothers, Wayne, Paul and Roy Peyton; sisters, Donna Nickerson, Linda Sue Worley and Margie Peyton; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
