Billy Bob Simpson

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Rev. Allen Bates will officiate. Pallbearers include Scott Allen, Waylon Barclay, Bill Miles, Robert Miles, Brian Miles, and Fred Moore, and Nate Lee.

Billy Bob was born on March 15, 1924 to Archie and Connie (Long) Simpson in Chico, Texas. He was united in marriage to Eveleen Pittman on November 1, 1947 in Texas. Billy Bob retired after 36 years from TXI in Bridgeport. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

Billy Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Eveleen and his son, James Paul Simpson.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Kathy Milligan of Bridgeport; his stepdaughter, Cathy Kessler of Big Lake Texas; his grandchildren, Scott, Melissa, Cynthia, Cady and Cope; his great grandchildren, Rachel, Hailey, Payton, and Alexia; his great great grandchildren Cody and Anna; his brother, F.A. Simpson of Bridgeport; his sisters, Dean Largent of Bridgeport and Patsy Harrison of Chico; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

My condolences to the family of Billy Bob Simpson. I met him through the VA Clinic in Bridgeport and always loved to hear him tell stories about his younger years. He was a joy to listen to.
