Decatur: Blanca Irma Nunez, 75, of Decatur, went to be with our Lord, Sunday, April 28, 2013 in Decatur.

Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 2nd at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with Father Sojan George officiating. Interment: Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday with the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Francisco Amador, Jason Vickers, Phillip Flusche, Umberto A. Leal, John Price and Severo Valdez.

Blanca was born April 4, 1938 in Monterrey, Mexico to Matias and Rosa (Martinez) Gonzalez. She was united in marriage to Mateo Nunez on May 25, 1958 and was married 54 years at his death on August 4, 2012. Blanca retired from Poco Graphite after 20 years of service. She was a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic church since 1958.

Left behind to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Leticia Nunez Piazza and husband Leonard of Southlake, Grace Nivens and husband Ben and Elsa Nunez both of Grapevine; two grandchildren, Brock Matthew Nivens and Jaqueline Piazza; four sisters, one brother, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
