Bridgeport ~ Bobby W. Manning, 76, a retired offshore construction superintendent, went to be with our Lord Saturday, January 11, 2014 in Bridgeport.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Jimmy Williams will officiate. Pallbearers include Butch McCain, Mike Hartsell, Joe Gilliland, Mike Thomas, Ronnie Thomas, and Danny McCarn.
Bobby was born on November 27, 1937 to George and Frances (Carter) Manning in Buda, Texas. He was united in marriage to Billie Beck on February 18, 1968 in Orange, Texas. She preceded him in death in 1996. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Bobby was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie "Beck" Manning; his son, Richard Thomas; his grandson, Scott Thomas; and his brothers, Stephen and Ted Manning.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Ronnie Thomas of Bridgeport, Steve Manning and wife Julie of Spring, Texas, Bobby Manning Jr. of Bridgeport; his daughters, Gina Richards and husband Chris of Hayden, Texas, Robin Russell and husband Nathan of Springtown; his sister, Jackie McCarn and husband Danny of Jourdington, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
