Bobby Neal Russell

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, November 3 at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Boyd with burial in Jaybird Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Bro. Bill Paxton will officiate. Pallbearers include Shane Hickman, Jonathan Russell, Johnny Russell, Ronnie Russell, Justin Kerr and Danny Russell.

Bobby was born on April 3, 1939 to Harlan and Sarah (Brannon) Russell in Fort Worth. He was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart Doris Jane Johnson on April 23, 1960 in Fort Worth. In that time, they raised seven kids and one granddaughter in Springtown. He was always working in his hydraulics business or remodeling his 100 year old home. After retirement, Bobby and Doris spent time traveling in their RV exploring new places but the ocean had his heart. He enjoyed fishing with his dog, Duke or watching Nascar. Bobby loved having his family around him and enjoying a good cigar with his sons. He was a sales rep for CRS Services, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, and a member of the Masons.

Bobby is preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Travis, Bennie and Rip Russell; his sister, Betty Joyce Gilmore; and his brother in law, Harold Gilmore.

Our lives will not be as bright without our daddy and papa.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 52 years, Doris Russell of Boyd; his daughters, Corey Brooks and husband Andy of Springtown, Cynthia Hickman and husband Shane of Boyd, Donna Campbell of Mineral Wells and Amanda Russell of Saginaw; his sons, Robert Russell and wife Sandy of Plano, Jonathan Russell and wife Denise of Garland, Ronnie Dale Russell of Azle and Johnny Russell of Springtown; his brother, Bill Russell of Kingsport, Tennessee; his 18 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 2 great great granddaughters on the way, Ella Rayne and Ellie Marie; other family members and a host of friends.
