Chico~ Bonnie Marcelle Hand, 97, of Chico went to be with our Lord on Thursday, December 31, 2020 in Decatur.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Saturday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Rev. Tom Merritt will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Terry Hand, Jimbo Hand, J.D. Redwine, Zack Widenor, Dakota Widenor, and Danny Cobb.
Bonnie was born on June 4, 1923 to Louis and Viola (King) Youngblood in San Francisco, California. She was a homemaker. Bonnie was united in marriage to George Washington Hand, Jr. on July 23, 1939 in Alvord, Texas and together 49 years until his passing on July 1st, 1989. Bonnie was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George W. Hand, Jr.; her grandson, William Mark Hand; and her great-grandson, Ryan Ruddick.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, her son, Jimmy Hand and wife Anna of Chico, her daughter, Dorothy Beck and husband Bob of Tulsa, Oklahoma and her son, Bill Hand of Alvord; her 7 grandchildren, Terry Hand, LeeAnn Ruddick, Deborah Meyers and husband Chris, DeeDee Beck, Bonnie Redwine and husband James, Connie Widenor, Jimbo Hand and wife Teresa; 15 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-greatgrandchildren; her brother Bobby Youngblood and wife Nancy of Mansfield; her sister, Elaine Mitchell of Goodyear, Arizona; numerous extended family and a host of friends.
