Rhome ~ Bonnie Upshaw Lasater Kongable, 73, a retired legal secretary went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at her home.
Memorial service is 1 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Aurora Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate.
Graveside services will be held at the I00F (Odd Fellows) Cemetery in Maramec, OK at a later date.
Bonnie was born on March 22, 1938 to Fred and Ruby (Rhodes) Upshaw in Blackburn, Oklahoma. She graduated from Blackburn High School. Bonnie married Calvin Alford Lasater in October 1957. They had three sons, Robert Lee, Calvin Ray and Larry Don. In February 1983 Bonnie married J. Robert Kongable in Grapevine, Texas. They traveled in Europe and to Russian orphanages. She loved spending time with family and friends. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy.
Bonnie was a legal secretary and retired in 2000. She was a member of the Aurora Baptist Church, was active in the church choir, AWANA and children's summer camp. She enjoyed her many Bible study groups.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Calvin; her sons, Robert and Larry Lasater; her brothers, Lewis, Arnie, and Jimmie; and her sisters, Lily Joyce and Ruby Ann.
Bonnie was loved by all and will be dearly missed by many.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 28 years, Bob Kongable of Rhome; her son, Calvin Ray Lasater and wife Allison of Colleyville; her granddaughters, Christina, Jessica and Ashley Lasater and Elizabeth Kongable; her grandson, Daniel Huffman and wife Stephanie; her great granddaughters, Kaiden and Alayna; her great grandson, Dylan; her stepson, John Kongable and wife Shari; her brothers, Ralph and Frank Upshaw; her sister, Patsy Rush; other family members and a host of friends.
