Alvord: Brownie Mae Sanders, 91, of Alvord, went to be with our Lord on Monday, March 8, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Funeral service is 1 p.m. Thursday, March 11th at Alvord Church of Christ with Reverend Chester Collum officiating. Interment will follow service at Alvord Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include Robert Kuykendall, Dale Kuykendall, Rick Bailey, Logan Gomme, Mark Stakley and Keith Maxie. Honorary pallbearer is Bill Lynch.
Brownie was born June 2, 1918 in Paris, Texas to William and Emily Louella Tucker Pridgen. She married Robert Earnest Sanders on September 11, 1937. Brownie retired from Gay Junior High School in Harlingen, Texas after 24 years of service as manager of the school cafeteria.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Laura Bailey and husband, Tommy of Tuttle, Oklahoma; son, Robert Sanders and wife, Joan of Judsonia, Arkansas; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 24 great great grandchildren.
Brownie is preceded in death by her parents; husband of 64 years, Robert Sanders; daughter, Dorothy Nelle Kuykendall; grandson, Darrell Wayne Kuykendall; two brothers and two sisters.
