Grand Prairie ~ Bryan Anthony Galvan, 22, the world lost a talented and creative artist Friday August 19, 2016.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 11:00 a.m., August 24, 2016 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Decatur with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday August 23, 2016 with Rosary at 7 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral home in Decatur.
Pallbearers include Cody Warden, Drake Carmichael, Daniel Longoria, Mauricio Baz, Jason Flores and Erick Flores.
Bryan was born on June 25, 1994 to Jesus and Vilma (Flores) Galvan in Arlington, Texas. Growing up in Grand Prairie, Texas, he took on many interest as a young boy. Bryan enjoyed playing soccer, baseball, and basketball (his favorite). He rooted for the Dallas Mavericks and was a Mavs Fan For Life (MFFL). Bryan’s interest grew to music, and it was here that he found his calling. He taught himself to play guitar, honed his skills as he grew older, and started a band along the way;Akashic (formerly The Akashic Record). He was beloved among the DFW local music scene and thrived on playing gigs around the metroplex. In addition, Bryan also worked as a barista at a local coffee shop in Grand Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rogelio Galvan; his uncle, Mario Flores; his cousin, Giovanni Rangel.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his parents, Beto and Vilma Galvan of Grand Prairie; his brother, Danny Galvan and fiancée Alison of San Antonio; his grandparents, Rosa and Oscar Flores of Decatur; his grandmother, Nina Galvan of Decatur; his girlfriend, Sarah Martin of Grand Prairie; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Bryan may be gone, but his soul was in his music which will live on forever.
