Bryon Carter Rahn, 79 of Decatur, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 4 after a brief illness with the Chinese virus, surrounded by his loving family.
Bryon was born in Dayton, OH to George and Helen (Smith) Rahn. Bryon graduated from Morehead City High School in Morehead City, NC. He then joined the United States Navy and traveled the world. Bryon was a born salesman and used that talent working for Peterbilt, where he was awarded the national Salesman of the Year award numerous times. Bryon loved his family and wanted them near. He loved his friends and continued to make new ones though he had many. And because we loved him-we shall miss him and honor him in our memory every day.
Bryon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy of Decatur, TX; daughter Tascha of Dallas; son Nathan of Dallas; sister Denise Whittington of South Carolina and niece April Gadsden of South Carolina and numerous extended family and lifelong friends and his loyal Lab, Keely.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers, the best way to honor the life and legacy of Bryon is to make a donation to a charity of your choice in his name. A celebration of his life will be planned at a later date.
Finally, the family would love for everyone to celebrate Bryon’s life the way that he did: start a conversation with a stranger, stop next to a field of cows and moo at them, spill food down the front of your shirt, spend the day on the golf course with your friends, yell at sports on the TV, order the strangest thing on the menu and then complain is wasn’t good and above all, stop and smell the roses.
