Decatur: A. D. "Bud" Pinkerton, 78, a retired truck driver, went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 6, 2009 in Decatur.

Funeral service is 10 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Decatur with Reverends Ken May and Gerre Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Joshua Pinkerton, Eric Huston, Marcus Schulz, Jake Nethery, Thomas Houchin and Alan Houchin.

Bud was born August 21, 1931 in Decatur to R. A. and Estella (Rucker) Pinkerton. He married Neta Reynolds in 1951 and was married 49 years at her death in October of 2000. He served in the Texas National Guard 49th Armored Division Company C 155th Tank Battalion from 1949 to 1954 and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Decatur.

Left behind to cherish his memory is daughter, Donna Houchin and husband, Randal; son, Mark Pinkerton and wife, Denise; grandchildren, Monty Huston and husband, Eric, Luci Schulz and husband, Marcus, Amanda Nethery and husband, Jake; Josh Pinkerton and wife, Jennifer, Alan Houchin, and Thomas; 13 great grandchildren; and very special friend, Mozelle Harris.
