BRIDGEPORT -- Buddy Charles Johnston, 73 a Lt. Commander and retired pilot for the U.S. Navy went to be with our Lord Tuesday, July 29 in Decatur.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur. Burial: West Bridgeport Cemetery. Visitation: 7-8 p.m. Thursday. Rev. Heath Marion will officiate. Pallbearers: Glenn Rhine, Sonny Tackel, Doyle Gene Smith, Robert Grantham, Tom Pendergrass, James Hudson. Honorary pallbearer: Joe Hale.
Buddy was born on January 29, 1935 to Charles and Clara (Wolff) Johnston in Bridgeport. He married Marion Keith on May 9, 1959 in Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Georgia Moore.
Left behind to cherish his memory is: wife of 49 years, Marion of Chico; son, Keith Dewayne Johnston of Decatur; daughter, Kelly Johnston Pena and husband Noe of Houston; 3 grandchildren, Jesse Johnston Pena, Tala Marie Johnston, Julisa Johnston Pena; brother, Victor Johnston of Lake Jackson; sister, Clarabell Newcomb of San Antonio; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives..
