Calvin Marshall Baker

November 27, 1941 — July 18, 2016

Alvord ~ Calvin Marshall Baker, 74, a retired General Contractor, went to be with our Lord Monday, July 18, 2016 in Decatur.

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial in Bluebonnet Hills Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Rev. Bill Cleveland will officiate. Pallbearers include Clayton Caniford, Colby Caniford, Casey Talley, Brady Webb, Austin Hall, and Montana Blackburn. Honorary pallbearers are Aubrey Cannon, Shane Cannon, Kamdyn Thomas, and Karsyn Thomas.

Calvin was born on November 27, 1941 to Glenn and Ina Lou (Hand) Baker in Fort Worth. He graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas. He was united in marriage to Jeanette Johnson on May 1, 1981 in Las Vegas Nevada. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Alvord where he served as a Deacon.  Calvin was a volunteer for C.A.S.A. and meals on wheels.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Coleman Kamper.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Jeanette Baker of Alvord, Texas; his daughters, Kelly Seffrin and husband Joe of North Richland Hills, Ashley Cannon of North Richland Hills, Heather Caniford and husband Chuck of Clifton, Rene Wooten and husband Thomas of Alvord, Shelly Hall and husband Ronnie of Ft Townson, Oklahoma; his son, Rick Clark and wife Gina of Alvord; his 18 grandchildren; his 12 great-grandchildren; his sister, Wanda Fitzgerald and husband Jackie of California; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
