Calvin Emmet King

September 5, 1930 — January 12, 2017

Chico ~ Calvin Emmet King, 86, a retired mechanic, went to be with our Lord Thursday, January 12, 2017 in Chico.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 16, 2017 at Living Waters Fellowship Church in Chico with burial in Chico Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Robert Cox will officiate. Pallbearers include Jackie Jones, Justin Jones, Kevin Jones, Tyler Hunter, Gene Pardue, and Glenn Swafford.

Calvin was born on September 5, 1930 to John and Verdia (Anderson) King in Farmersworth, Texas. He owned and operated King Mechanic Shop. Calvin was a member of Living Waters Fellowship Church in Chico. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Calvin volunteered at W.A.R.M.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Owen Jones; and daughter Shirley Parks; his brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Paul Jones and wife Janis of Bowie, Melvin Jones and wife June of Chico, Tony Jones and wife Vonda of Chico, Jackie Jones and wife Amy of Chico; his daughter, Maxine Swafford of Park Springs; 21 grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
