Carlie Everett Plowman, 87, of Decatur went to be with his Lord Monday, March 11, 2013 in Bridgeport.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerre Joiner officiating.
Carlie was born May 23, 1925 in Lawton, Oklahoma to John and Mary (Hobbs) Plowman. He married Bertha O'Dell in 1963 in Bridgeport. They were married 49 years at her passing in December of 2012. Carlie was a Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a retired Field Operator and was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #587.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ella Darlene Plowman of Decatur; 2 sons, Jack Plowman and wife Traci of Mineral Wells and Jim Ford and wife Barbara of Springtown; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mildred Thomas and Stella Leatherwood; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; 2 daughters, Vicki Pierce of Jacksboro and Judy Purser of California; and a granddaughter, Sally Longoria.
