Carma Jo "Jody" (Taylor) Cummings

Gainesville ~ Carma Jo “Jody” Taylor Cummings, 71, went to be with our Lord Thursday, April 8, 2021.

Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur with burial at Slidell Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the funeral home.

Phillip Boudreaux will officiate. Pallbearers include Levi Cummings, Damon Cummings, Taylor Cummings, Owen Cummings, Tyler Eads, and Randy Cummings.

Jody was born August 24, 1949 to Carman O’Dell and Nelda Jo (Cearley) Williamson in Decatur, Texas. She graduated Ponder High School and retired from Josten’s jewelry manufacturing after 36 years. Jody was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Nelda Jo Williamson; her father, Carman Taylor; and her brother, Ted Francis and wife Cheryl.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are, her son, Randy Cummings and wife Esther of Ponder; her daughters, Shelly Bannister of Gainesville, and Chrystie Eads and husband Marvin; her grandchildren, Levi, Damon, Jacob, Courtney, Jessica, Taylor, Owen Cummings, Tyler and Kadira Eads; 6 great-grandchildren; 9 nieces and nephews; her brothers, David Taylor and wife Donna, Rick Meeker and wife Cherlie, and Boyd Stephens and wife Sharie; numerous extended family members and a host of friends.
