OBITUARY
Carolyn Ann (Brooks) Head, 64, of Harrison, AR, went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, January 21, 2011, at Skaggs Hospital in Branson, MO, after a battle with cancer. She is the daughter of Annie Mae Brooks of Chico, TX.
Born in Decatur, TX, Carolyn grew up in Chico, TX. In her school years, she participated in sports and the marching band and studied hard to become the Valedictorian of the 1965 graduating class. In 1969, she graduated from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, TX, with a B.S. in elementary education. In 1970, she married Jerry Don Head of Grand Prairie, TX, at First Baptist Church in Chico, where she was a faithful member during her early years. Carolyn and Jerry raised their family in Waxahachie, TX, and then moved to Harrison, AR, in 1997. There, she taught 4-6th grade at Grace Christian School. She spent a total of 28 years ministering as a teacher in public and Christian education in Texas and Arkansas. She was an active member of Faith Life Church in Branson, MO. She is preceded in death by her father, Marshall Edward Brooks of Chico, TX.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Don Head of Harrison, AR; two daughters, Jenny Limcher of Branson, MO, and Sarah Ferguson of Alexandria, VA; two sons, Lesley Head and David Head both of Harrison, AR; two sons-in-law, Peter Limcher of Branson, MO, and Nathanael Ferguson of Alexandria, VA; and six grandchildren, Daniel, Timothy, Anya, Victoria, and Slava Limcher of Branson, MO, and Abigail Ferguson of Alexandria, VA.
She is also survived by her mother, Annie Mae (Newton) Brooks of Chico, TX; one sister, Joyce Vermillion of Frisco, TX; four brothers, Jerry Brooks of Decatur, TX, Dennis Brooks of Alvord, TX, Phillip Brooks of Decatur, TX, and Tommy Brooks of Dallas, TX.
