Carolyn Jean (Corbitt) Mcmillan

Rhome ~ Carolyn Jean McMillan, 63, was called home to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, June 17, 2022. Carolyn was born September 3, 1958 to Olin James and Leta Jean (Kemerer) Corbitt in Hicksville, Ohio.

At the age of 5, Carolyn knew she wanted to be a nurse when she grew up. She went on to obtain her diploma as a Registered Nurse and then achieved a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, for the past 39 years. She has been working for Wise Regional Health Systems in Decatur, TX for the past 23 years. Carolyn married the love of her life, Steven Wayne McMillan in 1985 and they remained together until his passing in 2017. She was devoted to Christ as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many by whom she will be missed.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 37 years, Steven McMillan.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Julie C. (McMillan) and husband David McDonald of Abilene; Grandson’s Aiden Connor McDonald, Jaxon Wayne McDonald of Abilene, Texas, granddaughter Taylor Noelle McDonald of San Antonio, Texas, Son Joseph C. and wife Melissa McMillan of Jacksonville, Florida, step grandson Michael Welch, step granddaughter Andrea Velasco, great-granddaughter Mary L. Self and great-grandson Waylon J. Welch; 2 brothers, Don and Steve Corbitt; her sister, Bonnie Blair; Brother in law Joe McMillan, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Decatur. Funeral services, led by Rev. Jimmy Withers, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at Aurora Baptist Church with burial following at Aurora Cemetery.

The family requests no flowers but would be extremely pleased to have donations be made in Carolyn’s name to the Breast Cancer Society , Wise Regional Medical Center or Feed The Need.
