Carolyn Ritchey

Arlington ~ Carolyn Lynn Ritchey, 77, formerly of Cottondale, went to be with our Lord, Monday, November 26, 2018, in Arlington.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 30, 2018, at First Baptist Church of Cottondale with burial in Cottondale Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Rev. Charles Pugh will officiate. Pallbearers include John Alvarez Jr., Rodney Godbey, Sean McCrory, Cody McCrory, Brandon Garrett and Russell Roark.

Carolyn was born February 21, 1941, to Wilson Abner and Essie Mae (Hefner) Morrison in Vernon, Texas. She was united in marriage to L.D. Ritchey on September 24, 1957, in Via Acuna, Mexico. Carolyn was a bookkeeper for Diamond Supermarket. She was a member of Cottondale Baptist Church since May 11, 1997. Carolyn was also a member of the Good Sams Club and enjoyed R.V. traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her 10 brothers and sisters.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 61 years, L.D. Ritchey of Arlington; her son, Loyd Ritchey Jr. and wife Linda of Burleson; her daughters, Samantha Alvarez and husband John of Lancaster, California, and Laura McCrory and husband Reno of Weatherford; her grandchildren, John Alvarez Jr., Laine Godbey, Sean McCrory, Cody McCrory, Audra Garrett, Claire Ritchey, and Brooke Ritchey; her great-grandchildren, Reece, Lauren, Luke, Emma, Reno III, Paris, Skylar, Davyn, Jayton, and Anson; numerous extended family members, and a host of friends.
