Lake Bridgeport ~ Carrie L. Simpson, 86, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Monday, December 21, 2015 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Rev. Jeff Baker will officiate. Pallbearers include Ronnie Simpson, Danny Simpson, John Simpson, Keith Simpson, Chris Fourd, Tony Shields, Justin Simpson, and Clay Young.
Carrie was born on October 31, 1929 to Arthur and Carrie (Whatley) Boring in Haskell, Texas. She was united in marriage to James W. Simpson on July 30, 1950 in Bridgeport. Carrie was member of the Bible Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James W. Simpson;
her daughters, Aleta Dell Thompson, and Jane Deloris Simpson; her grandsons, Colby Lynn Horn and Ted Thompson; and her brother, Arthur Lewis Boring.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Walter Lee Affie Simpson and wife Renee of West Monroe, Louisiana; her daughter, Edith Elaine Simpson Young of Lake Bridgeport; her daughter, Valarie Ann Simpson Fourd of Paradise; her son, James Simpson and wife Tammy of Cottondale; her son, John Simpson of Paradise; her grandchildren, Ronnie, Danny, John, and Keith Simpson, Chris Fourd, Tony Shields, Justin Simpson, Clay Young, Brandy Krohn, Ronnica Haselden, Lindsay Grubbs, Carl Thompson, and Steven Sims; 23 great-grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
