Decatur ~ Catherine “Cathy” Lenora Oates, 87, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in Plano, Texas

Funeral is 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Cowboy Church in Decatur with burial at Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery. Family will receive friends 5-7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Church.

Gerre Joiner will officiate.

Cathy was born in October 29,1935 to Henry and Edna (Strain) Wren in El Paso, Texas. She was united in marriage March 16, 1956 to Marvin Edd Oates in Decatur, Texas. Cathy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to many who will miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Oates; and a daughter, Lisa D’Ann Oates.

Those left behind to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Oates of Decatur, and Scott Oates of Flower Mound; 3 grandchildren, Corbin Oates and wife Samantha of Decatur, Sydney Oates, and Peyton Oates of Flower Mound; 1 great-great granddaughter, Murphy Lane Oates arriving in April; several nieces, nephews and extended family members and a host of friends.
