Cecil Dobyns

Chico ~ Cecil DoByns, 85, a bonding inspector, went to be with our Lord Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Chico.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with burial in Sunset Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hawkins Funeral Home.

Rev. Mike Miller will officiate. Pallbearers include Jim Bob DoByns, Clint DoByns, Chad DoByns, Bryan Mann, Nathan Lasiter, and Jeremy DoByns. Honorary pallbearer is Cory DoByns.

Cecil was born on May 3, 1930 to Wallace and Dollie (Harper) DoByns in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He served his country in the U.S. Marines. Cecil was united in marriage to Dorothy Elaine “Watson” Lasiter on January 24, 1997 in Chico. He retired from Bell Helicopter after 29 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Frankie Mae DoByns; his son, Robert DoByns; his son, Lannie Lasiter; his grandchild, Terry Mann; and his great grandchild, Dennis Caraway.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Lasiter DoByns of Chico; his son, Earnest DoByns and wife Cindy of Sunset; his daughter, Carol Pittman and husband Keith of Decatur; his daughter, Martha McClure and husband Rusty of Sunset; his son, Clark DoByns of Sunset; 22 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; other family members and a host of friends.
