Cecil Glen Cross

Newark - Cecil Glen Cross, 89 of Newark, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2023 in Arlington,

Funeral is 1PM Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Indian Hills Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, with burial at Aurora Cemetery in Aurora. Family will receive friends 2 hours prior to service at the church.

Doug Simon will officiate. Pallbearers will be John Beam, Joey Cross, Seth Cross, Michael Carroll, Jimmy Cross and Glen Cross.

Cecil was born February 6, 1934 to Seth Raymond and Celia Tee (Coffey) Cross in Kiowa, Oklahoma. He was united in marriage to Patsy Lou Milford on December 8, 1970 in Mena, Arkansas. Cecil was a 1952 graduate from Kiowa, Oklahoma High School. He worked for Textiles Inc. in sales. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Newark, where he served as a deacon for many years.  His favorite colors were tan and brown, and roses were his favorite flower.  Cecil belonged to several country clubs, he was a big fan of golf as well as traveling and fishing. He had a love of country music and his favorite poet was Robert Frost. Cecil had shared that his fondest memory was floating the White River and trout fishing. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 54 years, Patsy L. Cross; daughter, Glenda Kay Peterson; step daughter, Patricia Joiner; brothers, Amos Cross, Robert Cross, Alvin Cross, Elton Cross and Alonzo Cross; and sister, Lou Fern Martin.

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother Jewel Cross, sisters Yvonne Moore and Christine Stephens. Sons, Ronald Cross and Russell Cross; Step children, Glenda Beam, Louis Hosek, and Mike Cross; Grandchildren, Sonya Jackson, Glen Cross, Michael Carroll, Codi Wiener, Jeff Fox, Seth Cross, John Beam, Joe Cross, Jimmy Cross, Emily Hosek, Julie Bailey, Greg Joiner, Randy Joiner and Jody Joiner; several great grandchildren, numerous other family members and a host of friends.
