Newark ~ Cecil McCleskey, 74, a retired carpenter, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, September 19, 2018 in Azle.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Boyd with burial in Pleasant Grove #1 Cemetery in Decatur. Family will receive friends 2 - 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Bro. William Brooks will officiate. Pallbearers include Jay Killough, Mark Killough, Clifford Killough, Keith McCleskey, Leonard McCleskey Jr, Clayton Hall and Robert Sanders.
Cecil was born January 27, 1944 to Paul and Myrtle (Hullum) McCleskey in Lubbock, Texas. He was united in marriage to Bernadine Tarlton on June 1, 1973 in Lubbock. Cecil proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for the Newark Fire Department for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife of 41 years, Bernadine.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, Leonard McCleskey and wife Paula of Newark, Paul McCleskey and wife Linda of Haslet; his sister, Barbara Killough of Newark; his sons, William, Allen and Steven Myers; his daughter, Kathy Myers; his 8 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; extended family and a host of friends.
