Marble Falls – Cecil Wayne Van Hoose Sr., 82, went to be with our Lord on Sunday, October 10, 2021 in Burnet, Texas.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport followed by burial in West Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Bro. Kenneth Womack and Bro. Richard Vandeventer will officiate. Pallbearers are to include Richard Van Hoose, Robert Anderson, Glenn Hensley, and Jeff Hensley.
Cecil was born November 11, 1938 to John and Pauline (Fortenberry) Van Hoose in Lockney, Texas. He graduated from South Plains College in Levelland, Texas. Cecil felt the call to the ministry as a youth. He preached his first sermon at the age of 15.
He married his childhood sweetheart and love of his life Betty Albritton on May 30, 1958 in Bridgeport, Texas. They were together for 61 years.
Cecil dealt with vision impairment all his life but he did not let it affect his desire to minister and preach the word. He and Betty worked as a team in the ministry. Cecil played the guitar and Betty played the piano. He loved to talk to people about the lord.
Cecil had a love for missions and a powerful prayer life. He was a prayer warrior.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Betty Van Hoose; his sister Frances Hensley, and his brother Alfred Van Hoose.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children, his son, Wayne Van Hoose and wife Glenda of Anson, his son, John Van Hoose and wife Brenda of Odessa; his daughter, Edith Van Hoose of Brownwood, and his daughter Marilyn Holland and husband John of Marble Falls; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; numerous family members and a host of friends.
Cecil loved his family and was generous with his time and money. He will greatly be missed by his family and those who knew him.
