Charles F. Calvert

Funeral is 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 31st at the Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Louis Horton officiating. Interment: Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers include Jim Henderson, Bob Stallard, Rick Read, Dennis Hudson and Robert Troxell, and Ralph Smith.

Charles was born on February 10, 1936 in Wise County, Texas to Claude Card and Elva (Parr) Calvert. He was united in marriage to Peggy Joyce Read on January 21, 1956 in Bridgeport, Texas. Charles was owner of Calvert Electric for 42 years.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Peggy Joyce Calvert; daughter, Pam Horton and husband David; son, Mark Calvert all of Decatur; brother, Shelton Calvert of Chandler, Texas; sister, Mattie Herrin of Plano; 2 grandchildren, Brenden Horton and Misty Meyer; 3 great-grandchildren, Lane and Aaron Meyer and Quinnten Gober; other family members and a host of friends.
