Charles "Corky" Roberts

Decatur ~ Charles “Corky” Roberts, 75, went to be with our Lord Sunday, April 2nd, 2023.

Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 7, 2023 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Corky was born January 18, 1948 to Benjamin Franklin and Modene (Lovejoy) Roberts in Decatur, Texas. He was united in marriage in 1978 to Ruby Carolyn Stanley in Weatherford, Texas. Corky was retired from Peterbilt Motors in Denton, after 18 years in the test department. He loved his family first, his work, helping others, enjoyed fishing, cooking ribs and brisket for all. Corky was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Modene Roberts; 2 brothers, Jerry Don Roberts, and Travis Roberts; 3 sisters, Doris Brown and husband Judd, Shirley Stewart, and Mary Myers.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Ruby Roberts of Decatur; his daughter, Cristy Gilbert and husband Chase of Decatur; his son, Heath Roberts of Beaumont; his grandkids, Baylie and Beck Gilbert; brothers, Benny Roberts, Bimbo Roberts and wife Melba, and Cotton Roberts and wife Joy all of Decatur; 3 sisters, Betty Kennon of Decatur, Wanda Cox and husband Jimmy of Greenwood, and Sue Jones of Decatur; a sister-in-law, Marguarette Roberts of Decatur; a brother-in-law, Ron Myers; extended family members and a host of friends.
