Charles Oliver Hixson, Sr

DECATUR -- Charles Oliver Hixson,Sr., 93, retired from the Maintence Department of the San Antonio Schools passed away Thursday, July 26, 2007, in Lewisville. SERVICE: Graveside services are 3:00 p.m. Monday at Oaklawn Cemetery. Reverend Gerre Joiner will be officiating. HONORARY PALLBEARERS: Tyler Johnson, Tim Heskett, Jim Richards, Roland Davis, and Jim Archer. VISITATION: Family to recieve friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home. Charles Oliver Sr. was born in Chalk Mountain, Texas on December 8, 1913 to Anderson and Elizabeth West Hixson. He married Doris Fest on May 20, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army. Mr. Hixson was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Wise County Veterans, and the Masonic Lodge. SURVIVORS; Wife, Doris Hixon of Lewisville; sons, Les Hixon of Lewisville and Chuck Hixson and his wife, Roxanne of Dallas; grandaughters, Shelley Johnson, Jenni Hixson and Natalie Heskett; great granddaughters, Reese Johnson and Carly Johnson. And a number of nieces and nephews.
