Charles David McClure

Mesquite ~ Charles David McClure, 90, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, January 14, 2025 in Mesquite.

Funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16th, at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel in Bridgeport with burial at Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. 

Louis Horton to officiate.

Charles was born on October 13, 1934 to Milton Taylor and Eugina (Lehman) McClure in Wichita Falls, Texas. He was united in marriage to Patsy Read on August 27, 1955 in Dallas, they were together for 69 beautiful years. Charles was an electrician for several years and was a member of Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas. He was a beloved husband, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a friend to many that will miss him dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Eugina McClure; his son, Michael McClure; his daughter, Linda Cooksey; his son-in-law, Jerry Cooksey; and his brothers, Sonny McClure and Dick McClure. 

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 69 years, Patsy McClure of Mesquite; his granddaughter, Misty Lynch and husband Justin of Flower Mound; his grandson, Jeremy Cooksey and wife Paulette of Mesquite; his great-grandsons, Jack Lynch, Shelby Cooksey and Logan Cooksey; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
