NEWARK -- Charles Olin Petty, 61, a retired mechanic for EMC Electrical in Grapevine went to be with our Lord on April 1, 2009 in Newark.
Graveside Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Aurora Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Rev. Jimmy Withers will officiate. Pallbearers: Bill Tinney, Marvin Wineslager, James Cornstubble, Jerald Simmons, Dwayne McDonald, Gerald McDonald, and Tom McKnight.
Charles was born on August 31, 1947, the son of Olin and Arzille (Freeman) Petty, in Fort Worth. He married Shirley Kaye Murray on August 21, 1964 in Weatherford. Charles was a lifetime resident of Newark and he was a Baptist.
Charles was preceded in death by his father and his infant brother, Richard.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are: his wife of 44 years, Shirley Petty of Newark; daughter, Tysha Barclay and husband Audy of Alvord; sons, Charles Aaron Petty of Newark; Micah Petty and wife Stacy of Rhome; 9 grandchildren; mother, Arzille Petty of Boyd; sisters, Shirley Moran of Newark, Joyce Davis of Boyd; brother, Paul Petty of Boyd; and several nieces and nephews.
