Charles M. Ray, 80, a retired supervisor for General Dynamics, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2006, in Decatur. Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hawkins Funeral Home. Charles was born May 22, 1925 to Chester Samuel Ray and Ruby Brownlow in McAdo, TX. He married Edna Wolf on November 13, 1945 in Amarillo, TX. Charles served his country during World War II in the United States Army. He was an award winning tubing supervisor for General Dynamics in San Diego, CA as well as in Fort Worth. He assisted NASA with their very first space launch. Charles was a member of Bay Chapel at Runaway Bay, Bassmasters of California and the Hereford Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Edna Ray of Runaway Bay; son, Gary Wood Ray of Willits, CA; daughter, Kandy Crawford and husband, Jerry, of Springtown; grandchildren, Patrick, Tracy, Cody, Carrie Beth, Casey, Jacob and Jesse; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
