Paradise ~ Charles "Charlie" Shankle, 75, a retired accountant, went to be with our Lord Wednesday, January 1, 2014 in Decatur.
Funeral is 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at Decatur Church of Christ with burial in Paradise Cemetery. No set visitation.
Corbin Young and Matt Edwards will officiate. Pallbearers include Chris Corsbie, Jonathan Holt, James Hopkins, Jason Smith, Chad Koenig, and Cesar Calderon.
Charlie was born on March 12, 1938 to Leo and Omie (Taylor) Shankle in Comanche, Texas. He served his country in the National Guard. Charlie was united in marriage to Loyce Lowery for over 30 years. He retired from Frito Lay after 15 years.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gene, Larry and Harold Shankle; his sister, Rella Jane Shankle; and his son, Charles Steven Shankle.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Loyce Lowery of Paradise; his children, Curt Shankle of Hurst, Cassandra Newman of Paradise, Melonie Christian of Decatur, Leisha Young of Paradise, Greg Lowery of Paradise, and Chris Lowery of Decatur; 16 grandchildren; 7 great grand children; other family members and a host of friends.
