Paradise: Charles Donley "C.D." Sipes, 87, a welder went to be with our Lord, Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Paradise.
Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 8th at Friendship Baptist Church in Boyd with the Reverend Terry Terry officiating. Burial is at Friendship Cemetery. Family to receive friends 6-8 PM Wednesday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.
Pallbearers: Darrin Tackett, Chris Tackett, Tim Sipes, Austin Sipes, Chad Land, Chase Tackett, Jesse Furlong and Jake Furlong.
C.D. was born September 11, 1922 in Italy, Texas to H.A. and Essie (Newkirk) Sipes. He married Mary McCulley on May 31, 1941 in Springtown, Texas. He was a welder for General Dynamics for 35 years.
C.D. was preceded in death by his parents; son, Charles L. Sipes; J.W., D.C., Dorman, and Norma Lee.
Those left behind to cherish his memory is wife of 69 years, Mary Sipes of Paradise; dog, Skipper; daughter, Nelda Tackett and husband Jim of Paradise; 2 sons, Mike Sipes and wife Sherry of Graham and Richard Sipes and wife Rhonda of Graham; daughter-in-law, Naomi Sipes of Boyd; 8 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; brother, Bobby Sipes and wife Beverly of Weatherford; 2 sisters, Mary Jane Read of Azle and Joyce Tierce of Paradise; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
