Charles Edward West, Jr

Graveside service is Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Rosston Cemetery with Reverend David Dunson officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Viewing is prior to visitation.

Charles was born on July 29, 1925 in Pernell, Oklahoma to Charles E. and Ida Lou (Green) West, Sr. He married Iris Christine Lucas on October 7, 1950 in Henrietta, Texas. Charles retired from Wagoner Cattle Ranches in Decatur, Texas and was a member of the Rosston Methodist Church. He served in WWII in the United States Navy aboard USS Hornet.

Charles loved his family and friends. He had a great passion for gardening and fishing that he shared with everyone. He had an unconditional love for children and animals.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Iris West of Suffolk, Virginia; two daughters, Vicky Feliciano and husband, Ed Feliciano of Smithfield, Virginia; granddaughter, Marci Gilbert and husband, Terry Gilbert; two grandsons, Jeff Feliciano and wife, Janett and Nick Feliciano; great granddaughter, Sara Nickerson; great grandsons, Chris and Stephen Wallace and Christov Feliciano.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, grandson, two sisters and four brothers, several nieces and nephews.

Family requests memorials be made to the hospice centers of choice.
