Fort Worth ~ Charles Edward “Papa” Wooten, 82, a retired salesman, went to be with our Lord Friday, March 25, 2016 in Fort Worth.

No services to be held.

Charles was born on October 26, 1933 to Aaron and Edna (Wilson) Wooten at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He was united in marriage to Joyce Nell Copeland on December 5, 1958 in Haltom City. Charles served in the army during the Korean War. He held many careers from owning a restaurant to working on the police force. Charles was certified as a Junior Gold Coach due to his many years as a bowler and coach. He was Captain of the Seconds and a Judge at the Golden Gloves for over 60 years. Charles loved spending time with his family and never missed a moment to see his granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Wooten; and his great grandson, Jeremy Ray Baxley.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Joyce Wooten of Fort Worth; his sons, Mark Wooten of Fort Worth and Jerry Wooten and wife Layla of North Richland Hills; his granddaughters, Ceazun Wooten, Katie and Rosie Baxley, Shelby and Megan Wooten, and Tristen King; his great granddaughter, Emily Baxley; his brothers, Gerald Wooten and wife Nancy of Weatherford and Don Wooten of Springtown; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
