Charles "Charley" Deaton

Chico~ Charles “Charley” Deaton, 76, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 in Chico.

Charley was born on April 23, 1946 to Hubert B. and Betty Lou (Todd) Deaton in Decatur, Texas. He was retired and worked for many years as a carpenter and a drag racer.  Charley was united in marriage to Renae Walker on December 19, 1966 in Chico, Texas. He was a veteran and proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1966-1968. Charley loved spending his time with his family and friends and was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, son-in-law, and friend who will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Charley lived life on his terms and left this earth on his terms. He is at peace and whole again with the Lord and his family rejoices and takes comfort in that knowledge.

He was preceded in death by his parents, H.B. and Betty Deaton; and his sister, Linda Carol Hill.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Renae Deaton of Chico; his daughter, Shae Deaton of Hurst, his son, Vance Deaton and wife Tanya of Bedford; his brother, Mike Deaton of Lake Bridgeport; his sisters, Lizzie Salter of Bowie and Erlene Carson of Irving; his grandsons, Noah Sparks of Alvarado and Ethan Sparks of Bedford; his brother, and sister-in-law, Monty and JoAnn Walker of Wichita Falls; his family friends, David Brodnax, Tom Boltz, Floyd Harper, David Warner, Larry Bright, Harvey and Betty Weatherly and Butch and Paula Young; numerous extended family members and friends.
