Charles "Roby" Roberts

Charles “Roby” Roberts, 78, went to be with our Lord, Friday, October 1, 2021 in Decatur, Texas.

Graveside is 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Boonesville Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

Bro. Gerre Joiner will officiate. Honorary pallbearers include John Long, Steven Long, Tommy Fitzgerald, Nathaniel Roberts, and Wesley Eugene Fitzgerald.

Charles was born on August 25, 1943 to Frank James and Jewel Jane (McWhorter) Roberts in Galveston, Texas. He was united in marriage to Martha Ottelie Baumann in November of 1966 in Germany. Charles proudly served our country in the Army. He was a retired Handy man and a member of Balsora Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Roberts; and his daughter, Robin Michelle Gabrielle Roberts.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sons, Paul Gunther Roberts of Georgia, and Nathaniel Douglas Roberts of Poolville; his daughters, Johanna Sue Roberts Long of Decatur, and Marieanne Jewel Roberts Fitzgerald of Bridgeport; and family friend, Connie Richardson of Poolville; extended family members a host of friends.
