Alvord: Charlotte I. Clower, 80, went to be with our Lord, Friday, October 14, 2011.
Funeral is 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 18th at the First Methodist Church of Alvord with Rev. Johnny Irish officiating. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Charlotte was born October 31, 1930 to Richard and Ruth (Smeal) Hummel. She married Johnnie Clower on December 31, 1954 in Winchester, Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, Jimmy Mayes; and two brothers, Harold and Merrill Hummel.
Charlotte retired from General Dynamics in the Assembly Line. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alvord.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Dennis Mayes of Alvord; her nieces, Diane Harrington of Falls Church, Virginia, Denise Hummel of Phillipsburg, Pennsylvania and Brenda Baker of Alvord; her nephews, Kerry and Jeff Clower of Alvord; her sister-in-law, Thelma Clower of Alvord; her brother-in-law, Garvin Clower and wife Mildred of Velma, Oklahoma; several grand nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
