Bridgeport ~ Cheryl Newton, 61, a homemaker, went to be with our Lord Saturday, February 4, 2012 in Decatur.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport with burial in East Bridgeport Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Rev. Larry Potts will officiate. Pallbearers are Chad Howell, Scott Johnson, Chad Mogus, Chris Stone, Adam Gressman, and Chris Needham.
Cheryl was born on January 2, 1951 to Bill and Betty Jo (Barker) in Bridgeport. She was a computer manufacturer with Optisense before retiring. Cheryl was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Pat Newton.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Chad Newton and wife Jennifer of Bridgeport; her grandchildren, Adison and Gavin; her brother, Tony Newton and wife Pam of Wichita Falls; her nieces, Nicole Rocha and husband Cliff and Lauren McAfee; her nephew, Mathew McAfee; other family members and a host of friends.
