Decatur ~ Christine Doris Gates, 94, a massage therapist, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, October 27, 2015 in Decatur.
Greg Pierce will officiate.
Funeral service is 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Gibtown Baptist Church in Gibtown with burial at Gibtown Cemetery in Gibtown, Texas. Family will receive friends 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.
Christine was born on August 14, 1921 to J.L. and Martha “Mattie” (Martin) Curtis in Gibtown, Texas. She was united in marriage to Curtis Gates on October 31, 1941 in Seminole, Texas until his passing. Christine was a Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis Gates.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Curtis Gates of Decatur; her daughter, LaVonna Gates of Decatur; her sister, Genella LewAllen of Fort Worth; her brother, J.L. Curtis of Millsap; 2 grandsons, Scott Travis Gates, and Bryan W. Gates; 2 great grandchildren, Amber Lynn Gates, and Brittney Gates; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
