Clarence Russell

Funeral is 2 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 at Hawkins Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Paradise Cemetery. Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Rev. David Kelly will officiate. Pallbearers include Rex Haggard, Mack Haggard, Christopher Haggard, Roger Shaun Dennis, Mitchell Dennis, Joe Gilliland, and Albert Thorton.

Clarence was born on July 31, 1924 to Perry and Effie (Chuning) Russell in De Queen, Arkansas. He served his country in the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. Clarence was united in marriage to Merline Jacobs on August 3, 1943 in Idabel, Oklahoma. He worked as a boiler operator at Plains Coop. Clarence was a member at the First Baptist Church of Paradise and Wise County Veterans Group.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his daughter, Sharon Beddingfield; his sister, Jean Cullpepper; 3 brothers, Lawrence, Carl Lee, and James Russell.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his daughters, Linda Haggard and husband John of Paradise, Gail Haggard and husband Jack of Bloomington, California; 4 grandchildren, Rex, Darla, Mack, and Sharon Lynn; 8 great grandchildren, Christopher, Roger Shaun, Mitchell, Kyle, Dakota, Ali, Anthany, and Izaih; his sister, Carmiletta Pile and husband J.B. of Idalou; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
